Who I am
Heat Pump Installer Websites is a trading name of Chade O'Brien, a sole trader based in Yorkshire. I'm the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@heatpumpinstallerwebsites.co.uk.
What I collect and why
If you contact me or use the preview form: your name, company, email address, website and message. I use these to reply and to build the preview you asked for. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
If I contact your business first: I find heat pump installation companies using Companies House records and the companies' own websites. I keep the company name, website, the business contact email published on that website and notes on the website itself. I use this to send a small number of relevant emails about my service. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in offering a relevant service to businesses. I only email limited companies and I stop straight away if you ask.
If you become a client: the details needed to build and run your website, invoice you and keep records, under our contract and my legal obligations for tax records.
How long I keep it
Prospect details are deleted after 12 months if we haven't worked together. If you ask me not to contact you, I keep your email address on a do not contact list so I don't email you again. Client records are kept for six years after we stop working together, for tax purposes.
Who processes it for me
Cloudflare (website hosting), Zoho (email) and GitHub (where I store work files). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. I don't sell your data and I don't use advertising trackers.
